Michelle Lavigne BA, LLB Barrister & Solicitor

Growing up in Corbeil, just east of North Bay, Michelle is familiar with small town Northern Ontario living. Her interest in law started early, and as a high school and university student she volunteered and worked in local law offices.

She studied Political Science and Economics at Laurentian University and law at Ottawa University. She completed her clerkship with the Federal Court of Canada, and  became a lawyer in 2008. For the last 7 years she has been working for the Federal Government in Ottawa researching and interpreting statutes and regulations, drafting and analyzing Cabinet proposals, conducting research, as well as writing and editing briefing notes and memorandums. She now wants to directly help clients and deal with legal issues in a private practice.

Michelle has family and friends in the area. She likes New Liskeard with the small town home she seeks, and where she can entertain her other interests including cycling along the shores of Lake Temiskaming, practicing yoga and attending the local fitness centre.

Michelle will work with Peter and Bill Ramsay in their New Liskeard, Englehart and Kirkland Lake offices doing real estate, wills, powers of attorney, estate administration, small business, corporate and commercial law, as well as expanding these areas as the opportunities arise.
